I'm a community activist, volunteer coordinator, project manager, independent business owner, traveler, artist, partner, sister, daughter and neighbor. Much of the same roles you each must play in your own lives. My connection to you is one of the primary reasons I've decided to run for re-election after my first three-year term as one of your Selectmen. I've listened to your fears, your concerns, your enthusiasm, and your criticism and know that we are on the right track - together for Acton's future.
I've traveled the world and found that one of the best places to be is right where I grew up - Acton, Massachusetts.
Still quaint and charming, the little village where I live is in the heart of the American Revolution. Farmers, worried about their families and future, gathered together to stick up for themselves against abuse of power.
I have the joy of being able to say that I live within a stone's throw of my extended family and some of my oldest and dearest friends. My partner is truly a renaissance man - an organic gardner, musician and chef. Having him in my life is one of the greatest gifts God has given me.
The old Victorian on Wright Terrace is both a blessing and a curse. "A river runs through it" only partially describes the challenges of caring for a home that's over a century old. But its towering pines and elegant architectural details cast soft shadows in the sun, making it worth all of the sweat and tears. Come visit sometime and ask for a tour of our garden paths. And don't forget to take a peak at the wild orchids that were kind enough to take root here!
And, as if I don't have enough to do with the stacking of wood, digging trenches, mulching and packing disaster relief supplies for shipments worldwide, I LOVE to play doubles volleyball.
